Doberman Media has rolled out Author Hub, a standalone submission platform built to let external contributors send in articles without ever touching the site’s administrative console — the latest step in an ongoing effort to harden security across the organization.
Doberman Media works with a growing and diverse pool of external authors — writers we welcome and value, but whose identities and intentions we cannot always fully verify before their first submission. Until now, giving contributors any way to submit content meant weighing convenience against risk. Author Hub removes that trade-off entirely.
A Separate System, By Design
Author Hub is not a stripped-down version of WordPress access — it is a completely independent platform. Authors log in with their own credentials, managed in a separate system that has no connection whatsoever to the site’s content management system. There is no WordPress account behind an author login, no path from Author Hub into wp-admin, and no shared session, password store, or permission model between the two.
In practice, this means:
- Authors never see the site’s backend. They have their own dashboard — a clean, ticket-style console — to submit articles, attach cover images, YouTube and Google Docs links, social media references, and tags, and to track the status of every submission they’ve sent in.
- Editors keep full control from inside WordPress. Every submission that comes through Author Hub lands directly in our editorial team’s existing review queue inside the CMS. Editors approve, reject, or leave feedback exactly where they already work — nothing changes on that side.
- Two-way communication, without shared access. Editors can now attach a comment directly to a submission — a note on what needs revising, what’s missing, or simply a “well done” — and the author sees it instantly on their own dashboard. No email back-and-forth required, and still no bridge between the two systems.
- Every submission is tracked and dated. Each submission receives its own reference number tied to the date it was sent in, so both authors and editors can reference a specific piece quickly and unambiguously.
Why This Matters for Security
This launch is a direct extension of Doberman Media’s ongoing security roadmap, not a one-off feature. The reasoning is straightforward: the fewer people who have any form of access to the administrative side of our website, the smaller our attack surface — and the safer our infrastructure, our staff, and our contributors all are.
By design, Author Hub authors:
1. Cannot log into wp-admin under any circumstances, regardless of their submission history or standing.
2. Are invisible to the site’s user system — they do not appear alongside staff accounts and cannot be mistaken for, or escalated into, one.
3. Authenticate through an isolated credential store, meaning a compromised author account can never be used as a stepping stone into the CMS, our editorial tools, or any other author’s data.
This isolation protects three groups at once: it protects the platform itself from unnecessary exposure to unverified third parties; it protects our editorial staff, who continue to operate entirely within their existing, trusted environment; and it protects our authors, whose credentials and submissions are contained within a system that was purpose-built for exactly what they need to do — nothing more.

Author Hub is the newest milestone in Doberman Media’s broader push to reduce risk across every part of how we operate as a commercial organization. As our network of contributors continues to grow, we believe the right response isn’t to loosen access controls for convenience — it’s to build tools that make the secure path also the easy one, for authors and editors alike.
